Final Project - 3 Options Due at noon on June 7, 2016
Option 1 - Podcast You will create a five minute podcast on a topic of your choice.
5:00 in length
Original script - you must hand in the script
Introduction and ending created by you
Imported clips can only be 10-15 seconds in length for each clip.
Narration must be recorded clearly.
Either in class with microphones or outside of class.
Save as: Final Project Podcast - LastName
Option 2 - Music and Art You will search the internet for a piece of artwork that you will use as the basis of your composition. Search the internet for a piece of artwork (ex. painting, sculpture, drawing). Criteria
20 loops or more,
5 of the 20 loops must be original recorded loops using the keyboard
Sound effects are not included in the 20 loops.
Must be at least 5:00 (5 minutes) in length.
Must write a 1-2 page paper (typed) that includes the following:
Information about the painting, sculpture, etc.
Why did you select this specific piece of art?
How does the music you created reflect your art?
Save as: Final Project Art - LastName
Option 3 - Sound Effects Story You must turn in the written version of the story and the sound effects/music version.
Step One - Writing
Write an original 10-12 paragraph story
Step Two – Finding Words
Go through your story/poem and make a list of words that you will need to find sound effects for.

Podcast Grading Rubric
Theme/Title 0-5 points - Below Expectations Your theme is somewhat freewheeling. The relationship between your title and theme is unclear
6-10 points = Developing The relationship between your audio clips is somewhat evident. Your title refers in some way to your theme.
11-15 points - Commendable Your episode makes clear the relationship between your audio clips and the title conveys this.
Sound Clips 0-5 Below Expectations Sound clips not prepared correctly. Lengths, fades, conflict with voice.
6-10 Developing Sound clips mostly prepared correctly. Volume levels mostly appropriate but not as clear and clean as possible.
11-15 Commendable All Sound clips are prepared correctly. Volume levels work well. The listener can clearly and cleanly hear everything.
Narration 0-5 Below Expectations Little care devoted to preparing and recording voice-overs. Difficult to follow narration. Poor research.
6-10 Developing Voice-overs are adequate, with good research, but there are some distractions due to poor script-writing, improvisation, or enunciation.
11-15 Commendable Voice-overs are well conceived (written and researched script and/or appropriate improvisation); spoken clearly.
Production Quality 0-5 Below Expectations Sloppy recording; poor signal for voice-overs. Levels uneven.
6-10 Developing Some unevenness in sound levels (clips, voice-overs). Perhaps some distortion, noise in signal, or levels too low.
11-15 Commendable Audio levels of clips and voice-overs matches. Signal is clean.
Length 0-5 Below Expectations Podcast is shorter than 2:00 OR longer than 3:30
6-10 Developing Podcast is 2:00-2:29 OR 3:01-3:30 11-15 Commendable Podcast is 2:30-3:00.
